novembre 2010 à l'ENS Lyon, sur le thème des linguistiques de
corpus. Voici l'argumentaire et le programme de la journée. Les

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR"><span> </span>Récemment,
de
nombreux chercheurs en linguistique cognitive ont établi un
manque d’études
de corpus dans leur discipline. Des textes fondateurs tels que
Lakoff &
Johnson (2003) ou Lakoff (2002) par exemple produisent des
éléments théoriques
et des analyses principalement à partir d’exemples inventés ou
suggérés par des
informateurs linguistiques ; ce manque de données empiriques va
d’ailleurs
à l’encontre d’un intérêt proclamé de la linguistique cognitive
pour le langage
naturel. Les travaux de Semino (2008) ou Cienki (2005)
entreprennent ainsi de
tester les hypothèses théoriques de la linguistique cognitive à
l’aide de
corpus écrits ou oraux ; ils ont permis de confirmer, mais aussi
d’infirmer certains éléments clés énoncés par la première vague
de chercheurs
dans la discipline.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR"><span> </span>Dès
lors,
s’il existe un certain flou définitoire autour de la notion même
de corpus,
assorti de disparités importantes et de spécificités imposées
par des objectifs
distincts, il s’agit de se demander s’il existe un type de
corpus idéalement
adapté aux questions de la linguistique cognitive, et si les
autres
linguistiques de corpus (acquisition du langage, langues en
danger, analyse du
discours, lexicométrie) peuvent<span>
</span>informer ce questionnement. Pour cette journée d’étude
organisée par le
laboratoire ELCO (Études en Linguistique COgnitive), nous avons
choisi de
réunir des chercheurs aux intérêts (et aux corpus) variés, pour
leur poser les
questions suivantes :</span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Qu’est-ce qui
constitue un corpus représentatif? Et comment le
constitue-t-on?</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Quelles sont les
différences entre corpus écrit et corpus oral? Qu’est-ce qui
motive le choix entre les deux?</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Comment pratiquer son
corpus de manière raisonnée (hypothèses et objectifs de
recherche, méthodes d’analyse) ?</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Nous chercherons des
éléments de réponse en vue
de constituer: </span></p>
<ul type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Une définition en
extension et en intension (quantitative et qualitative) de la
notion de corpus.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Un inventaire des
méthodologies qui se réclament du travail sur corpus, assorti
d'un "guide des bonnes pratiques".</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR">Une présentation
raisonnée de ce que l'on peut légitimement attendre d'un
corpus, délimitant les mérites mais aussi les limites du
travail sur corpus. </span></li>
</ul>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Garamond;" lang="FR"><span> </span>Le
but de
cette journée d’étude étant d’offrir un éclairage original sur
la question du
corpus en linguistique cognitive, elle s’articulera en deux
parties. On
proposera tout d’abord une présentation des recherches en
linguistique
cognitive basées sur des études de corpus. La deuxième partie
s’ouvrira aux
chercheurs issus d’autres branches de la linguistique qui
apporteront leur
propre perspective sur la question, permettant ainsi des regards
croisés et un
dialogue comparatif enrichissant pour l’étude de la notion de
corpus. Ils
partiront d’un problème rencontré au cours de leurs recherches
récentes pour
présenter leur pratique du travail sur corpus Deux tables rondes
concluront
finalement les parties, afin de faire une synthèse des questions
soulevées dans
les présentations. </span></p>
