<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><font face="Verdana">Les récents travaux en morphologique remettent au
goût du jour le débat classique autour de la notion de racine et
de sa place dans l'analyse de la structure des mots. Par
exemple, les théories basées sur les contraintes (Théorie de
l'Optimalité) remettent en cause la notion de racine telle
qu'elle est conçue dans l'analyse des langues sémitiques (un
morphème abstrait entièrement constitué de consonnes), et
proposent à la place de dériver les mots à partir d'autres mots
existants. De même les théories morphologiques fondées sur les
processus mettent en relation les stems des lexèmes et des mots
plutôt que leurs racines. </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><font face="Verdana">Ce numéro présente un ensemble d'articles qui met
en évidence des arguments empiriques et théoriques en faveur de
l'une ou l'autre des approches de la structure interne des mots,
contribuant à saisir les enjeux théoriques que les débats
actuels en morphologie soulèvent.</font></p>
