<p class="MsoNormal" align="center" style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;font-family: Georgia, serif;">Les exemples de changement par analogie sont bien connus des
comparatistes. Pour Saussure, ils constituent un type particulier de changement
diachronique et supposent une adaptation des éléments du paradigme lorsque l'un
d'entre eux connaît un changement irrégulier dans un de ses segments (par ex.
les consonnes initiales). Les mécanismes de changement par analogie ont bien
été étudiés (cf. ne serait-ce que l'article classique de KuryÅ‚owicz). Mais la
logique de ce type universel de changement n'a pas été réellement étudiée. Les
comparatistes n'ont pas de raison de s'y intéresser, ils peuvent se contenter
de dire que «la forme arabe de </span><span style="text-align: justify;font-size: 12pt;font-family: Georgia, serif;">1</span><span style="text-align: justify;font-family: Georgia, serif;">sg.<b> </b><i style="font-weight: bold;">-tu</i>
s'explique par un changement par analogie». Quant aux synchronistes, elle
échappe tout simplement à leur domaine, puisque le locuteur semble indifférent
à l'origine des formes qu'il emploie. Ainsi, les réponses à la question de la
logique et de la finalité du changement par analogie résident dans une zone
intermédiaire entre diachronie et synchronie qui reste insuffisamment étudiée.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;">Mais ce n'est pas le seul facteur en jeu. De fait, les spécialistes
de grammaire synchronique pourraient, même si la diachronie n'est pas leur
domaine, s'intéresser aux conséquences des changements par analogie sur tel ou
tel paradigme. La conséquence la plus immédiate est que l'on a affaire à des
paradigmes « rimés ». Lisons la séquence rimée : <i><b>mon-ton, ton-son, mes-tes, tes-ses</b></i>, ou bien <i><b>mon-mes, ton-tes, son-ses</b></i>. Le caractère « rimé » du
paradigme français des pronoms possessifs est évident, pourtant, aucune école
linguistique ne propose de segmenter ces morphèmes, pour la simple raison que
le coût de cette opération serait trop élevé, puisque cela remettrait en cause
des postulats linguistiques fondamentaux. </span><strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><o></o></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;">Il semble donc que la théorie du langage n'ait pas réellement de
place pour le phénomène qui nous intéresse. De nombreux pionniers de la
linguistique l'ont mentionné : F. de Saussure, A. Meillet, R. Jakobson, A. Zaliznjak, V. Ivanov, mais dans
ce domaine glissant, ils ont toujours utilisé des termes et des formulations
prudents, cherchant à attirer l'attention sur les fait, plutôt qu'à en donner
une interprétation théorique. </span><strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><o></o></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;">Il est constructif d'examiner les adaptations phonétiques au sein
du paradigme non pas comme une question marginale et exotique, mais comme un
des moyens les plus répandus (avec de nombreux autres) utilisés par les langues
pour réunir des signes formellement distincts dans un paradigme ainsi que pour
structurer des paradigmes distincts dans les systèmes. </span><strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><o></o></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;">Les neutralisations morphémiques (unification totale des éléments
du paradigme) et submorphémiques (partielles) ne sont pas les seuls procédés
utilisés par les langues pour signaler formellement un « pont »
sémantique : il existe des dizaines de techniques différentes, qui n'avaient
jamais fait l'objet d'une étude conjointe.</span><strong><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;"><o></o></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, serif;">La théorie des submorphes est fondamentale pour évoquer la question
de la formation des signes non-morphémiques comme un des mécanismes
