I wanted to let you know about <b>NYI</b> (the <b>NY-St. Petersburg Institute of Linguistics, Cognition and Culture</b>) - the ongoing St. Petersburg summer institute I have co-directed since 2003, which will be held for the 10th time this year from <b>July 9-27, 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russia</b>. NYI's website is<b><font color="#3333ff"><a href="http://www.nyi.spb.ru/geninfo" target="_blank" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)">http://www.nyi.spb.ru/geninfo</a></font></b><br> <br>NYI is a phenomenal way for advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students to have an eye-opening travel experience, while continuing their focus on Linguistics and Cognitive Science.<font color="#3333ff"> <b>The school is a 3-week Institute, held in beautiful St. Petersburg, Russia, at which students choose 4 seminars in a range of fields, especially Linguistics and Cognitive Psychology</b>. </font> Faculty are from a wide range of US and European institutions, and this year's Linguistics and Psychology program features <b>John F. Bailyn</b> (Stony Brook), <b>Thomas Bever</b> (U of Arizona), <b>Rajesh Bhatt</b>(UMass, Amherst), <b>James Hurford</b> (U of Edinburgh), <b>Sabine Iatridou</b> (MIT), <b>Jaye Padgett</b> (UCal, Santa Cruz), <b>Roumyana Pancheva</b> (USC), <b>Irina Sekerina</b> (CUNY),<b>Sergei Tatevosov</b> (Moscow State), as well as 8 others in the area of Cultural and Media Studies. <br> <br>NYI is a superb way to spend 3 weeks of summer 2011! Tuition is partially subsidized by the Institute, and comes to <b>475</b> EURO for Western European students (many comparable summer Institutes cost close to or above 1000 Euro). A Certificate of Completion is presented to all students who successfully complete the program.
