Cette journée vise à réunir des chercheurs travaillant sur
les pronoms<br>
impersonnels qui admettent des interprétations humaines
(e.g. ils, on,<br>
ça en français, les R-impersonals dans le sens de Siewierska
2011)<br>
dans des langues typologiquement variées.<br>
<br>
Nous invitons toutes les personnes intéressées à soumettre
des résumés<br>
pour une présentation de 25 minutes (plus dix minutes de
discussion) sur<br>
des questions portant sur des pronoms impersonnels à lecture
humaine.<br>
Ces questions incluent parmi d’autres les suivantes :<br>
<br>
* possibilités de reprise pronominale des pronoms
impersonnels humains<br>
* les propriétés d’accord (en genre / nombre)<br>
* propriétés morphologiques (paradigmes défectifs ou formes
supplétives)<br>
* propriétés sémantiques (restrictions sur les lectures
génériques ou<br>
épisodiques, les lectures inclusives / exclusives, les types
de<br>
prédicat, etc)<br>
* comparaison avec les pronoms indéfinis, avec les emplois
sans<br>
antécédent des pronoms personnels et avec les formes
impersonnelles du verbe<br>

Les résumés doivent être anonymes et en format pdf ou rtf.<br>

The workshop focuses on the morphological, syntactic and
semantic<br>
properties of impersonal pronouns allowing human reference
such as English<br>
one, they, you French on, ils, ça, tu Germanic man/men<br>
(R-impersonals in Siewierska's terminology).<br>
<br>
We encourage submissions exploring questions including — but
not limited<br>
to — the following<br>
<br>
* What are the differences between episodic and generic uses
of<br>
impersonal pronouns ? Why do some pronouns not admit
episodic uses ? Is<br>
this contrast better understood in terms of inclusiveness
(generic being<br>
inclusive while episodic impersonals are exclusive of the<br>
speaker)?<br>
* What readings are available for the different case-forms
of the<br>
pronouns ?<br>
* Why do impersonal human pronouns often have defective
(French on) or<br>
suppletive (German man) oblique forms?<br>
* What are binding properties of impersonal human pronouns?<br>
* What semantic restrictions are found for impersonal
readings (types of<br>
predicates, inclusive vs exclusive readings, role of
locative<br>
expressions in the licensing of impersonal readings)?<br>
* How do impersonal human pronouns differ from indefinite
pronouns like<br>
someone, impersonal uses of personal pronouns (3pl and
2sg/pl), and from<br>
the human subject implicit in the interpretation of
impersonal verb forms<br>
and passives?<br>

We invite submissions for 25-minute presentations (plus
ten-minute<br>
discussions). Abstracts should be at most 2 pages in length
(including<br>
examples and references) written in French or English.<br>

Abstracts must be anonymous and should be sent by e-mail
(plain ASCII,<br>

Please write the (first) author’s name plus the word
’abstract’ in the<br>
subject line of your message (e.g., ’Dupont abstract’), and
include<br>
author name(s), affiliation, contact information and the

email address that we should use for correspondence.<br>
