Nowadays, theoretical morphology witnesses a revival due to the emergence of new<br>
formalization frameworks, both for inflectional and lexical morphology:<br>
canonical morphology, approaches based on analogy, rule-based approaches, to<br>
name just a few. All these approaches can potentially shed new light on<br>
computational processing of morphology, either for parsing or generation. In<br>
parallel, new computational techniques (such as (un-)supervised morphological<br>
acquisition) and formal frameworks bring a fresh look on morphological<br>
phenomena. Both domains tackle more or less implicitly the organization of the<br>
lexicon in general. The TACMO workshop aims at gathering these two facets of<br>
morphology - computational and theoretical formalization - in order to foster<br>
interactions and to highlight how both approaches benefit from each other.<br>
<br>
We mainly expect (but not exclusively) communication proposals on the following<br>
topics:<br>
- Inflectional, derivational and compositional morphology.<br>
- Problems raised by non affixal processes (templatic morphology, reduction and<br>
truncation, reduplication, blending and conversion)<br>
- Semantics-morphology interface and its role in the organization of the<br>
lexicon.<br>
- Syntax-morphology interface and its role in NLP systems.<br>
- Conception of lexical resources enriched with morphological information.<br>
<br>
Talk proposals should especially focus on the innovative aspects of the<br>
formalization and/or its benefits for automation. For computational approaches,<br>
the focus should be put on the new perspective that the implementation can bring<br>
on morphological descriptions.<br>
<br>
SUBMISSIONS:<br>
Authors should submit an anonymous extended abstract (3-4 pages) in English,<br>
containing the title of the talk, keywords and references. Abstract should be<br>
written in usual font (typically Times 12pt) and submitted in pdf format<br>
