<b> </b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13px;text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"><b>En ce début de XXI<sup>e</sup> siècle, la <i>mort du texte </i>semble avoir succédé à celle de l’auteur (aujourd’hui ressuscité malgré la critique de Foucault). C’est, du moins, ce dont le post-textualisme et les études culturelles sont actuellement le symptôme, dans le champ littéraire. En linguistique, même si, entre la phrase et le discours, il y a encore peu de place pour le texte, avec un gros retard sur les pays anglo-saxons et le Brésil, la linguistique française a enfin manuélisé et définitivement accordé une place à la <span style="font-variant:small-caps;">linguistique textuelle</span> au sein des sciences du langage. Entre une linguistique ouverte au <i>transphrastique</i> et une<i>linguistique du discours</i>, le champ propre de la <span style="font-variant:small-caps;">linguistique textuelle</span> est encore mal identifié.</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13px;text-align:justify;"><b><span></span>Jean-Michel Adam, un des principaux acteurs, en langue française, de développement de cette discipline, depuis ses <i>Éléments de linguistique textuelle </i>(Bruxelles, Mardaga 1990), viendra répondre à la question que nous lui avons posée : « Qu’est-ce qu’un texte ? », question qui concerne toutes les disciplines et à laquelle les sciences des textes répondent diversement. Sous la forme de <i>problèmes du texte</i>, Jean-Michel Adam exposera sa théorisation du « jugement de textualité » et de l’analyse textuelle des discours.</b></p>
