Les travaux d’inspiration sociologique étudient l’importance de l’environnement dans l’acquisition d’une deuxième langue, où l’environnement peut renvoyer, entre autres, à l’input auquel est exposé l’apprenant, input qui est parfois variable. Dans cette conférence, je m’intéresserai à l’acquisition des structures variables, et plus particulièrement des variantes modale (subjonctif vs. indicatif) et temporelle (l’expression du futur), par des apprenants du français langue étrangère et seconde. Je présenterai deux études dans lesquelles Aarnes Gudmestad (ma collaboratrice) et moi-même avons analysé des preuves d’acquisition à l’aide de deux méthodologies de travail différentes : la production des formes dans le cas du projet sur l’expression modale et la sélection d’une forme préférée pour notre projet portant sur l’expression du futur. <o></o></span></p><p class="Predeterminado"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arabic Typesetting";"><o> </o></span></p><p class="Predeterminado"><span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Arabic Typesetting";">15h00 Alexandra Vraciu, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona <o></o></span></p><p class="Predeterminado"><i><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Arabic Typesetting";">Tense-Aspect Morphology in the Advanced English L2 Variety: Exploring Semantic, Discourse and Cross-linguistic Factors<o></o></span></i></p><p class="Predeterminado"><span style="font-family:"Arabic Typesetting";">In my talk, I am going to present an integrated analysis of a series of semantic, discourse and cross-linguistic factors underlying the use of tense-aspect morphology by advanced French and Catalan learners of English as a foreign language. On the basis of a corpus of oral picture book narratives produced by two populations of language specialists (i.e., English Studies graduates and professors at several French and Catalan universities), I explore the distribution of tense-aspect morphology in relation to the aspectual class of the predicates (the Aspect Hypothesis) and the temporal information predicates encoded in narrative discourse (the Discourse Hypothesis).
