Journée d’études organisée par le Centre culturel franco-norvégien en sciences sociales et humaines, avec le soutien du Département de langues étrangères de l’Université de Bergen, de l’Institut Ferdinand de Saussure et de l’Ertim-INaLCO, à l’occasion de la publication du numéro de la revue Arena Romanistica, 12, intitulé « De l’essence double du langage et le renouveau du saussurisme » — numéro spécial à l’occasion du centenaire de la mort de Ferdinand de Saussure (1857–1913).<br>
Organisateurs : Anje Müller Gjesdal (Université de Bergen) et François Rastier (ERTIM-INaLCO).<br>

Argument. — La découverte du manuscrit publié sous le titre De l’essence double du langage conduit à une révision d’ensemble du corpus des œuvres de Saussure et permet de modifier l’interprétation de sa pensée, tout à la fois obscurcie et simplifiée par l’histoire de sa réception. Nous étudierons donc les problèmes philologiques et herméneutiques que posent alors l’établissement et l’interprétation du corpus saussurien. En inspirant le courant de recherche récent du néo-saussurisme, De l’essence double du langage peut conduire à reconsidérer le statut même de la linguistique contemporaine, tant dans ses rapports avec la tradition grammaticale qu’avec la philosophie du langage.<br>
