Les universités de Fribourg (département d'anglais) et de Neuchâtel (Institut des sciences du langage et de la communication / Centre de Sciences Cognitives) (Suisse) mettent conjointement au concours deux postes de doctorants financés par le Fonds National Suisse de la recherche scientifique (100%) dans le cadre du projet de recherche "Biaised communication: The cognitive pragmatics of fallacies". <br>
Le projet est étroitement lié aux activités du programme doctoral "Langage et cognition" offert par la CRUS, basé à l'Université de Fribourg, et du Centre de Sciences Cognitives de l'Université de Neuchâtel. <br>
Les deux thèses seront inscrites dans les deux institutions en cotutelle.<br>

Profil:<br>
Les candidats retenus seront titulaires d'un Master en linguistique, psycholinguistique ou sciences cognitives (orientées sur le langage) au plus tard au 1er janvier 2014 et disposeront d'un potentiel de recherche dans un cadre doctoral. Leur champ de spécialisation se situera préférablement à l'interface langage-cognition, idéalement en pragmatique, sémantique, théorie de l'argumentation ou analyse du discours. <br>
Une connaissance ou un intérêt pour les méthodologies expérimentales constitue un avantage. <br>
La langue de travail à Fribourg est l'anglais; à Neuchâtel, les langues de travail sont l'anglais et, dans une moindre mesure, le français. Une très bonne compétence en anglais est donc indispensable dans tous les cas.<br>

Salaire et durée:<br>
La durée prévue du projet est de trois ans. L'engagement initial est d'une année, et la date d'engagement est fixée au 1er mars 2014. <br>
Le salaire de la première année est d'environ 55'000 CHF (avant impôts).<br>

Applications are invited for two SNF doctoral students (100%). Candidates will be working on their PhD within the SNF research project "Biased Communication: The Cognitive Pragmatics of Fallacies". The project is closely connected to the activities and doctoral tuition offered by the CRUS doctoral programme<br>
"Language & Cognition" based at the University of Fribourg and the Cognitive Science Centre based at the University of Neuchâtel, in Switzerland. <br>
Both PhDs will be jointly registered at both institutions (co-tutelle).<br>
<br>
Profile:<br>
Successful applicants will have a Master's degree in linguistics, psycholinguistics, or cognitive science (with a focus on language) by 1st January 2014 and will offer convincing evidence of potential for doctoral research. <br>
The field of specialization will preferably be at the interface between language and cognition, ideally in pragmatics, semantics, argumentation theory or discourse analysis. <br>
Knowledge of (or interest in) experimental methodologies would constitute an advantage.<br>
<br>
Work in the English department at Fribourg is conducted in English. Work at the Institut des Sciences du langage et de la communication at Neuchâtel is conducted in French and English. Active competence in English is required for both positions while some knowledge of French for casual interaction is welcome.<br>
<br>
Salary and duration:<br>
Funding is available for three years. The initial appointment period is one year. Starting date is 1 March 2014. <br>
Salary in the first year will be circa CHF55000 (before taxes).<br>
