The goal of the conference is to bring together junior researchers and give them an opportunity to practice their presentation skills in English and discuss their work with specialists in their field. This year, we are delighted to welcome<strong> Dr</strong> <strong>Yann Fuchs</strong> from Université Paris-Nord (Paris 13) as our keynote speaker.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt" class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><span><br>Graduate students (<em>i.e.</em> second-year Master and Ph-D students) as well as first-year post-docs are encouraged to apply. The conference language is English and each presentation will be allotted a 20-minute slot followed by 10 minutes for discussion.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt" class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><span><br>Topics relevant to the conference encompass all fields of linguistics focusing on the <strong>English language</strong>, including, but not restricted to, language acquisition, language teaching, conversation analysis, discourse analysis, and linguistic structure. Different perspectives can be adopted (methods of data collection, multimodality, etc.). <span style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white">Contributions exploring</span> the questions of ‘affect’, ‘stance’ and ‘intersubjectivity’ or any other related subjects (dialogicity, expression of emotions, modality, etc.) will be greatly appreciated.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt" class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><span><br>In order to help participants become more competent communicators, two discussion sessions will be organized during the day to provide friendly feedback.</span></p> <p style="text-align: justify" class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><strong><span><br>Submission guidelines:</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify" class="MsoNormal" align="justify"><span><br>Abstracts of 400 words (excluding references) with a title and 5 keywords should be sent in two copies to <u><span style="color: blue"><a href="mailto:snugls2014@gmail.com">snugls2014@gmail.com</a></span></u> as Word file attachments.
