The Department of Cognitive Science of Ecole Normale Supérieure in<br>
Paris (http://www.ens.fr/?lang=en) will hire a visiting Assistant<br>
Professor in formal and theoretical linguistics for the 2014-2015<br>
academic year (starting date between September 1st, 2014 and October<br>
1st, 2014).<br>
<br>
While we welcome applications from all subfields of formal and<br>
theoretical linguistics, we will preferably hire someone with<br>
sufficient background in theoretical syntax to teach syntax at least<br>
at an intermediate level. Furthermore, knowledge of French, though not<br>
a prerequisite, is preferable.<br>
<br>
The successful applicant must have obtained his/her PhD diploma before<br>
the position starts.<br>
<br>
Teaching load: the visiting Assistant Professor will teach 2 classes<br>
per semester (about 4-5hrs/week), or any equivalent combination, and<br>
will also be involved in student advising.<br>
<br>
Research environment: the Department includes several active research<br>
groups in linguistics and neighboring areas (formal semantics,<br>
phonology, psycholinguistics, philosophy of language) -- see<br>

<br>
Salary: The visiting assistant professor will receive a net salary<br>
ranging from 2000 euros/months to 2500 euros/month, depending on past<br>
experience.<br>
