Depuis près de 20 ans, les nouvelles technologies (ordinateurs, Smartphones) permettent aux populations de créer, consulter des sites, de s’inscrire sur des médias sociaux, d’y publier tant des supports textuels qu’audio-visuels. Les NTIC se présentent ici comme des outils de dialogue et d’expression de soi (Georges 2009, de Fina et al. 2006) dont les minorités culturelles se sont emparées pour promouvoir leur singularité et revendiquer des droits localement et avec leur diaspora dans un mouvement d’« extraversion culturelle » (Hassane, 2010).<BR>

L’élaboration de corpus numériques issus du web pose des problèmes spécifiques qui obligent le (a) chercheur (se) à revoir ses méthodologies, révisions qui ont par ailleurs des conséquences théoriques et épistémologiques. Les questions concernent essentiellement : le recueil du corpus, puisque les territoires du web sont infinis (circonscription, méthode de recueil, d’annotation et d’archivage, décisions de clôture) ; la représentativité et donc la validité des corpus élaborés, et par conséquent la vérité des résultats de la recherche (problème particulier de la réticularité, de l’interdépendance et de la contextualisation forte de tout énoncé en ligne) ; le maintien d’une éthique de la recherche, confrontée aux problèmes de privacité (nécessité de repenser l’opposition privé vs public), de définition des énonciateurs (pseudonymat, hétéronymat, ubiquité, invérifiabilité), de diffusion des résultats (inséparabilité des questions éthiques et juridiques via le droit d’auteur ou le droit à l’image par exemple).<BR>

Depuis les années 80, l’Internet Relay Chat, la messagerie instantanée, puis les blogs, les jeux et les médias sociaux (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter), permettent à un nombre croissant d’internautes de communiquer à distance. Ces dispositifs sont le support de traces numériques de l’utilisateur, dont certaines permettent de l’identifier et de le situer dans son environnement social («amis», «favoris», «abonnés») et qui rassemblent également les productions dialogiques, créatives et communicationnelles, produites, volontairement ou indirectement, au cours de la pratique (médias partagés, textes de commentaire). La multiplicité de sources et la diversité des données supposent la mise en place d’outils afin d’identifier et d’accéder au contenu. Ainsi, le référencement, l’indexation et le traitement des données autorisent l’accès à des contenus qui, autrement, seraient ignorés. Toutefois, si de tels contenus sont rendus visibles, dans quelle mesure ce référencement en fait-il disparaître d’autres, remodelant une carte du web ?<BR>
