<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">The research team SeSyLiA (Semantics and Syntax
- Language In Action), part of PRISMES (EA 4398), in conjunction with the ED 514,
is pleased to host the sixth edition of SNUGLS which will be held in Paris at
the Institut du Monde Anglophone, 5 rue de l’Ecole de Médecine, on May 22nd,
2015. The goal of the conference is to bring together junior researchers and
give them an opportunity to practice their presentation skills in English and
discuss their work with specialists in their field. This year, we are delighted
to welcome<b><span style="font-family:Times;"> Lecturer Camille Debras </span></b>from Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense
(Paris X) as our keynote speaker.<span style="font-family:Times;"></span></p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Graduate students (<i><span style="font-family:Times;">i.e. </span></i>second-year Master and Ph.D. students) as well as first-year post-docs are
encouraged to apply. The conference language is English and each presentation
will be allotted a 20-minute slot followed by 10 minutes for discussion.<span style="font-family:Times;"></span></p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Topics relevant to the conference encompass all fields of linguistics
focusing on the <b><span style="font-family:Times;">English language</span></b>, including, but not restricted to, first and
second language acquisition, language teaching, sociolinguistics, pragmatics,
discourse analysis, conversation analysis, corpus linguistics, lexicology and
lexicography, translation and interpretation, and phonetics. </p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Different perspectives can be adopted (methods of data collection,
multimodality, etc.). Contributions exploring the questions of ‘affect’,
‘stance’ and ‘intersubjectivity’ or any other related subjects (dialogicity,
expression of emotions, modality, etc.) will be greatly appreciated.<span style="font-family:Times;"></span></p>
<p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">In order to help participants become more efficient communicators, two
discussion sessions will be organized during the day to provide friendly
feedback.</p>

Word file attachments. One copy should be made ready for anonymous refereeing
while the other should include the name(s), institutional affiliation(s) and
contact information of the author(s).<span style="font-family:Times;"></span></p>
