Phon can't see VLC

Dear Marta,
There seems to be a problem with that version of VLC, which Greg, my chief
programmer, is currently investigating. In the meantime, my recommendation
would be that you try with a previous version of VLC, as follows:

1) Download VLC 1.1.8, at:

http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/1.1.8/macosx/vlc-1.1.8-intel64.dmg

The link is buried deep, path on website is:

VLC Main Page ->
Other Systems and Versions (under download button) ->
Get VLC for Mac OS X ->
Download older versions of VLC media player ->
Older versions can be found by browsing out FTP archive

Which is at:
http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/

2) Use the script application icon in the 1.1.8 "goodies" folder to clear
the VLC preferences, then deleted the whole thing, restarted, and downloaded
VLC 1.1.8 intel 64 by going in the through the directory.

***Note: the same should hold true if you use VLC 1.1.9 (all the links above
can be modified with the 1.1.9 version), however, I have heard of one person
who had to backtrack to 1.1.8, hence my instructions with this latter
version above***

Things should work from there. If you could please confirm, one way or
another, it would be great. In the meantime, we will do anything possible to
get everything working smoothly using the latest version of VLC.

With best regards,
Yvan
