Data recovery

Dear all,

A general hardware problem. A bung 160 GB Western digital harddrive. Was in a
laptop but has now been removed. Will not boot up on any machine. Makes a
clunking noise so it is a mechanical rather than an electrical problem. Seems
my only possibility now is data recovery which will cost anything from 800AUD-
upwards depending on initial diagnosis report.

Any experiences or advice?
