TLA Lecture Series on e-Humanities

Starting this semester The Language Archive (TLA) of the MPI for
Psycholinguistics will organize a new lecture series in the broad area of
E-Humanities.

We would like to invite you to these lectures, which are open to everybody
who is interested.



Program:



Speaker:             *Mike Kestemont* (University of Antwerp)

Title:                      *The Weight of the Author. Quantitative
authorship attribution in medieval Dutch literature*

Mike Kestemont is a PHD student at the University of Antwerp, where he is
affiliated with the CLiPS language technology group and the medieval group
of the Institute for the Study of Literature in the Netherlands (ISLN). His
research focuses on the (computational) analysis of historical literature
in the field of traditional stylistics in semi-literate cultures (e.g.
Middle Dutch epic poetry).

Speaker:             *Antal van den Bosch* (Radboud University Nijmegen)

Title:                     *Big Linguistic Data*

Antal van den Bosch is professor of example based language modeling at the
Centre for Language Studies of the Radboud University Nijmegen. His
research focuses on the intersection of computational understanding of
language and computational generation of language.

Speaker:             *Alexander Mehler* (Goethe University Frankfurt am
Main)

Title                       *Linguistic Networks: Text-technological
Representation and Quantitative Analysis*

Alexander Mehler is professor at the text technology lab of the Goethe
University in Frankfurt am Main. His research focuses on quantitative
computational methods, for instance on semantics, multimodal corpora, and
parallel corpora.
