Dear all,

This is to announce the release of ELAN 4.6.0.
Here is a short list of new features, changes and fixes.

New features:
- export to Fieldwork's FLEx format (.flextext)
  - time alignment and speaker information are retained
  - automatic or manual mapping of tier structure to FLEx elements
-import of FLEx format
  - added support for the new flextext format
  - creation of a tier group per speaker
- improvements to the structured multiple file search
  - saving and loading of queries
  - it is now possible to select multiple items in the tier selection boxes
  - alignment view: graphical visualization of temporal alignment of hits
  - variable based matching, use of variables in query construction
- create a time selection exactly spanning multiple other annotations
- support for the short notation format of Praat TextGrid files
- in Merge Transcriptions the preferences of the first file are now copied
- sorting of tiers in the multiple file export to Toolbox

Main bug fixes, changes:
- some fixes in Shift mode: sometimes annotations were not moved correctly
or the Undo would not properly revert the changes
- copying time-subdivision tiers with depending tiers would sometimes lose
annotations if the type of the copy was set to symbolic subdivision
- fixed some problems with escapes and double quotes in Praat TextGrid

- tiers don't lose the link to a controlled vocabulary anymore when this CV
is replaced by another one
- the 'Native Windows Media Player', with its dependency on a commercial
library, has been removed
