*Presenter:* Craig Cornelius, Software Engineer, Google California.
*Dates:* Tuesday 27th January - Friday 30th January 2015 (participants are
expected to attend for all 4 days).

*Overview:* Over the first two days Craig will run a workshop on Creating
Apps with Android Studio. The next two days will consist of a studio hack
where you can work with other Software Engineers, Designers, Interaction
Designers, Multimedia Designers, and Linguists to create an Android App to
help with our understanding of indigenous language.
Craig and other mentors will be available to help you throughout the
process.

*Who should attend:* Anyone who wants to learn Android Studio and create a
language-related App. Background skills could be in software engineering,
multimedia, interaction design, information systems, computational
linguistics and more. You could be undergraduate and postgraduate students,
researchers, or professionals. People from CoEDL, UQ and the wider
community are welcome. *Level of expertise:* Basic experience with object
oriented programming is required (Java would be an advantage).
