It is with sadness that I pass on the news that linguist, Dr. Peter Hill, recently of Wangka Maya Pilbara Aboriginal Language Centre, Pilbara, WA, passed away on the 15th of August 2018. Peter was surfing in Exmouth, doing what he loved the most, when he passed.
Peter's family have taken much comfort in knowing that he lived a rich and meaningful life through contributing to the study of Aboriginal linguistic as this was a passion and formed his life work. Peter wrote a thesis on Kurrama language and also spent some time on Arrernte language work. Peter worked from 2011 on various languages at Wangka Maya before recently retiring to surf and play blues harp. Peter was laid to rest on the 30th of August. Vale Peter.
Kind regards,

Sue Hanson
