<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Late last year, we held our first LIP about
documenting child language (see blog <a href="http://www.paradisec.org.au/blog/2011/11/child-language-documentation-a-lip-discussion/" target="_blank">http://www.paradisec.org.au/blog/2011/11/child-language-documentation-a-lip-discussion/</a>).
We discussed why it might be useful to record child language as part of a broader
language documentation project. We also discussed what you need to think about
before you start documenting child language. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Since then a number of local linguists have
begun to document child language in the field. In October they will report on
their experiences. More seasoned child language researchers will be on hand to
join in the discussion too. </span><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255);color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:12.800000190734863px">Birgit Hellwig and Lauren Gawne will lead the session.</span></p>
