A maintenance update of Simple-ELAN has been released, these are the <br>
main changes:<br>
<br>
- the video image in some cases doesn't scale properly, not even after <br>
resizing with the vertical divider.<br>
   This hopefully improved and otherwise the extended logging might help <br>
troubleshoot the problem.<br>
- if possible, a waveform is shown even if only a video file has been <br>
linked (see notes below)<br>
- some minor changes and fixes in the VLC based player have been applied<br>
- includes a newer version of Java (14)<br>

Some notes on ELAN 6.1 and 6.2 on macOS:<br>
<br>
1) The new feature of waveform visualization directly from a video file <br>
(so without .wav file) appears to be problematic on some macOS systems. <br>
In ELAN 6.1 the user interface can become unresponsive (requiring a <br>
Force Quit), in 6.2 this situation is detected and the waveform will <br>
show a flat line (allowing to save the file and close the window). There <br>
are two possible solutions:<br>
   - if the waveform is not required, disable the Signal Viewer via <br>
View->Viewer->Signal Viewer<br>
   - extract a .wav file from the video and add it to the linked files, <br>
like in all versions before 6.1<br>
<br>
2) Interaction with Praat (like opening a selection in Praat) might <br>
suddenly stop working, without error messages. A new version of the ELAN <br>
6.2 distribution (uploaded on July 13) will cause macOS to ask the user <br>
to grant permission to ELAN to interact with Praat. This permission only <br>
needs to be given once.<br>
