getting RSTlist under way

Dear subscribers to RSTlist:

The list is just getting going, and so there have not been any substantive
discussions yet.  There have been some software troubles that some of you may
have encountered  --  linguistlist was changing software versions, machines and
net addresses all simultaneously just at the point that we were getting the list
open.  When the dust settles it will be a more robust and usable system.  Maybe
today.

This message will serve as a greeting, apology and test.  More substantive
messages surely will come.
