4th WORKSHOP “RST AND DISCOURSE STUDIES”

“RST and discourse studies” workshop gathers researchers, professors  and students of Linguistics, Computational Linguistics or Information  Science who work with Rhetorical Structure Theory (MANN and THOMPSON,  1988) or similar theories and models. The goal is to enable the  showing of researches carried out in different institutions and  research groups in different countries.
The 4th edition of the workshop will be held on the October 23rd,  2013, as a satellite meeting of the 9th Brazilian Symposium in  Information and Human Language Technology (STIL –  http://www2.unifor.br/bracis2013/call-for-papers-stil), in Fortaleza,  Brazil.
The 1st edition of the workshop was held at 16th Intercâmbio de  Pesquisas em Linguística Aplicada (InPLA), in 2007, at PUC-SP. The  second edition, in 2009, was named “Brazilian RST Meeting” within STIL  in São Carlos (http://www.inf.ufrgs.br/stil09/). The 3rd workshop “RST  and Discourse Studies” was also held within STIL (2011) in Cuiabá  (http://corpus.iingen.unam.mx/RST_2011/).

PAPER SUBMISSION AND EVALUATION
Participants may submit full papers or extended abstracts to  encontro.rst.2013 at gmail.com until May 17th (2013).
The full paper should  be no more than eight pages (including tables and figures) length,  with two additional pages for references.
The extended abstract should  be no more than four pages length and one additional page for  references.
Each paper [without the name(s) of the author(s)] will be sent to two  members of the scientific committee, who will point out if the paper  should be accepted or not. In case the paper is accepted, members of  the committee will suggest whether the paper should be presented as a  talk or as a poster. In case the paper is granted a positive and a  negative evaluation, a third evaluation will be necessary.
Acceptance  notifications will be published by June 17th (2013).
Final camera-ready papers or extended abstracts must be sent by July  25th (2013) to be published in the online conference proceedings (under  ISBN).The model for the full paper or for the extended abstract is available at  http://www.sbc.org.br/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=195&task=view.download&catid=32&cid=38. Papers and extended abstracts which are not according to the model will not be  published.
Authors of the accepted papers must register for STIL until the  deadline for extended abstract or full paper submission. Otherwise  their papers will not be published in the proceedings.
