[Rstlist] Combining RST and Critical Discourse Analysis

Hello scholars, 
I am Emmanuel Chinaguh, a PhD student in the Department of English, University of Ibadan in Nigeria and I am looking forward to combining Rhetorical Structure Theory and Critical Discourse Analysis as a harmonised theoretical framework in the analysis of political discourse in Nigeria . 
I specifically need some guide on how to relate the similar constructs of both theories to evolve an effective descriptive paradigm in Nigeria and West Africa by extension. In my thesis for Master of Arts study, I ventured into using RST to analyse Presidential Concession Speeches. However, I seek to take it a notch further in my PhD thesis. 
In addition, I seek assistance in getting materials for the following research endeavours:1) The above mentioned research, 2) How to describe RST schematic diagrams in comparison to other schemas.
