Subject: Southeast Asian Linguistic Conference


The 10th Annual Southeast Asian Linguistics Conference of the Southeast
Asian Linguistic Society will be held at the University of Wisconsin,
Madison, on May 4-7, 2000.  The keynote speakers for the Conference
Sessions to be held at Pyle Center will be Jackson Gandour of
Purdue University, Teraphan L. Thongkum of Chulalangkorn University, and
James Matisoff of the University of California, Berkeley.

Two workshops (on Hmong Language, Communities and Culture and on the
Teaching of Southeast Asian Languages) will preceded the conference
sessions on May 4, 2000.

Abstracts: Submit one page abstract by February 15, 2000. By mail, send
abstract and 3x5 with author information to SEAL/LCA, 1240 Van Hise Hall,
1220 Linden Drive, Madison, WI 53706. Electronically:
macken at facstaff.wisc.edu. For electronic submissions, enter "SEAL
abstract" in the subject header and extra space in message text between
author information and abstract.
