The Cultures of Consumption research programme invites applications for
an International Visiting Fellowship for 2005. Cultures of Consumption
explores consumption in a global context. The research programme is
funded by the ESRC and AHRB and brings together leading researchers
from the social sciences and the arts and humanities. The Fellowship is
competitive and open to leading international researchers from across
the social sciences and humanities. Applicants? research interests
should relate to research projects in the Cultures of Consumption
programme.

The fellow will write one paper, and participate in one workshop or
conference with researchers in the programme. Applications are invited
from younger as well as senior academics based outside the United
Kingdom. The fellowship is for any period from three to six months,
with a stipend of £2,500 ? 3,000 per month, depending on
qualifications. The fellow will be based at Birkbeck College in the
heart of London. Competition for the fellowship will be held annually.

Deadline: 29 April 2004 (for Fellowships January 2005 ? December 2005)

Requirements: PhD or equivalent, research of international excellence,
institutional affiliation outside the United Kingdom.
