Rick Jackson (again, thanks Rick) sent out the following message,
announcing a fine and useful, and exciting website
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Friends of the ILR and Anyone Interested in Languages--

The ILR is very pleased to announce that the National Virtual Translation
Center, in celebration of the ILR's Year of Languages in the Federal
Government and the ACTFL led "Year of Languages," has designed and put on
the Internet a rich new open Website on the Languages of the World! Each
month, the website will change to feature a new linguistic area, with maps,
information, FAQs, activities, and, at the end of every month, an online
quiz about the languages of that month, with a prize for those who get every
question correct.

I invite everyone to go to the Website at http://www.nvtc.gov/lotw/. There
is also a link to the website from the ACTFL Year of Languages webpage
(http://www.actfl.org/i4a/pages/Index.cfm?pageid=3408), and another link
will shortly go up on the ILR Webpage (www.govtilr.org).

Everyone is urged to try out this neat new page on languages, and to pass on
news about it to people of all ages who are interested in the languages of
the world!
