Description:
Lexicon Branding, a brand name development company located near San
Francisco,
is looking for at least one full-time associate to conduct and coordinate
branding-related consumer research and to perform linguistic risk analysis
on
global branding.

This position has three key components: (1) moderating focus groups and
conducting one-on-one interviews with consumers, using Lexicon's
proprietary
process; (2) coordinating the Lexicon research program and overseeing the
research program calendar; and (3) making recommendations on the
linguistic and
cultural suitability of candidate brand names in key overseas markets.

Principal responsibilities include:
-general project planning and client service activities, such as booking
focus
group facilities, making travel arrangements, consulting clients on
suitable
research markets, and managing the research program calendar
-writing and presenting final reports summarizing the analysis of the
consumer
research data
-analyzing data and writing reports on the level of risk involved in using
candidate brand names in various global markets

Our training program is approximately one year in length, and we require a
3-year commitment total (so two additional years after the training year).

Ideal candidates will have:
- a PhD in linguistics, anthropology, sociology, communications,
ethnography, or
a related field (ABDs will be considered if they are otherwise a promising
candidate for the position)
- a strong knowledge of at least two linguistic families
- less than two years of formal moderating experience (for this position,
we are
looking to train from the ground up)
- a strong ability to gain insights through open and interactive
conversations
with all types of consumers (so fieldwork experience is beneficial)
- some background or experience in advertising, graphic design,
consulting, or
other professional services industries preferred but not required

You will eventually be traveling 25% of the work month for domestic
research.

Interested candidates should submit a CV with a cover letter, via e-mail
only, to Peter Manasantivongs at peterlexicon-branding.com .

Application Deadline: 31-Dec-2007
