<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Conducts needs assessments and creates a comprehensive information technology plan for the College, including recommendations for support service strategies for LLL departments and labs.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Evaluates hardware and software for program administration, instruction and research.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Evaluates user needs in light of available technologies to develop technical requirements for instructional applications.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Manages the computer replacement program for LLL.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Reconciles diverse viewpoints and needs of units in the College to determine policies for maintaining networks, servers, user labs, and technologies.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Participates in the conceptualization of technology projects in requests for sponsored funding and in the support of sponsored projects.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Recommends, develops and maintains custom applications in support of language learning, teaching, and research, including Web-based applications with database driven dynamic content.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Integrates research-based instructional technology in the development of such applications and in recommendations for new development.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Provides expert consultation on technical aspects of technology-based language learning, teaching & research, and on computer hardware and software for language research.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Oversees projects to develop specialized software or multimedia products.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Develops and maintains College-wide database systems, including CLT lab scheduling and courseware databases.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Oversees the timely database and server backup and establishes restore procedures.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Provides training and technical support for LLL faculty and staff in Web and multimedia related technologies.</span></li>

<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent and 5 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for Application Development, of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower payband in the University of Hawai'i broadband system; or equivalent education/training or experience.</span></li>
<li style="margin:0px;font-size:13px;line-height:normal"><span>Considerable working knowledge of application development as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts, principles and methodology.</span></li>
