Flowers?

My colleagues here at Illinois tell me that an odd number is in fact proper.
 In addition to "corporate knowledge" of Russian tradition, this tidbit can
apparently also be found in Yale Richmond's "Advice for Visitors to Russia."
(title may not be exactly right.)
