Dear Colleagues,

Penn State has a six-week summer language in Vologograd which includes a
homestay.  We have just been informed that the prices for the homestay
will more than double this year.  The price for room and board with two
meals a day will be $110, and the price with three meals a day will be
$150.  I am trying to determine whether these prices are reasonable.

I would greatly appreciate any information you might send me about
prices in Volgograd and other Russian cities that may be comparable in
size or in the Volga region, particularly those relating to the
homestay portion of other academic programs.

I will be happy to post a summary of any information I receive.
