1. What has this to do with Slavic and East European languages and
   literatures?

2. Unfortunately we who are not native speakers of English have to
   use English as a lingua franca, and in so doing cannot help
   producing from time to time sentences that are funny for native
   speakers. Perhaps you would like to have all hotel instructions
   and menus in Finnish, Hungarian or Dutch only in those
   countries?
