The Slavic and East European Languages and Literatures Department at The Ohio
State University is undergoing an intense review which may lead to its
abolition or merger.  WE NEED YOUR HELP.  If this department has been important
to you in any way, or if you feel that it has been a vital part of our Slavic
and East European academic community, please write or fax the Governor of Ohio
and the President of the University (addresses below), with copies to us.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!  An Ad Hoc Committee has been set up to evaluate the
future of the Department.  The Committee will be completing its work within
two months.  We need a flood of letters like that sent to the University of
Washington during their recent review.
