No, they are not. Only "Izvestiia" are available for free reading. The
subscriptions to other newspapers, which are more read than "Izvestiia",
like "Nezavisimaia gazeta" (for those inclined to the right) and, more
importantly, "Segodnia" (the best Russian newspaper) have to be paid on the
monthly basis.
If you are curious why, send the flames to "East-West Publications". The
site for "Segodnia" looks very suspicious, as if the publishers of
"Segodnia" do not know that they exist on the web...
