Dear Seelangers,

Would anyone know if there have ever been attempts to interpret
Russian "mentality" and cultural history in anthropological terms?
Has Russian millenarianism (mainly of the XVII and XVIII cent.), for
instance, ever been treated as resulting from a problematical
acculturation? Has it been compared with Third World millenarianist
movements? Have the Petrinian reforms and their effects been studied
from the point of view of comparison with "cargo cults"? Etc.

Thanks for any suggestions!
