G. I. Bogrov

I am interested in references to and information about G. I. Bogrov, the
19th century Russian Jewish writer who published a novel, ZAPISKI EVREIA in
Otechestvennye zapiski in the early 1870s. I seem to have read somewhere
that he committed forgery (?).  Please answer off-list.  Thanks in advance
for any leads.
