Balkans readings for young adults

Dear SEELANGers,

I just gave a lecture at the adult education center of my university
on the conflicts in the Balkans. A couple of audience members
were teachers from local high schools and are looking for further
readings that they can use in their classes. Does anyone have
some good ideas for "young adult" literature on the topic? The
target audience is a gifted class, grades 10-12 at a public high
school in a college town. Obviously, the readings should be in
English, readily available in print or on-line.
