Dear SEELANGers,

Information about travel, hotel, and registration for the 2000 AATSEEL
Conference in Washington, DC (27-30 December) is available at:

http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~djb/aatseel/registration.html

Meanwhile, I have just posted updates of the AATSEEL Conference Program to:

http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~djb/aatseel.html

Note that there are three versions of the program on line (all accessible
from links at the address above):

1) http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~djb/aatseel/2000/program.html (79K)

This HTML version contains the program schedule, and clicking on a paper
title will retrieve the corresponding abstract. All characters should be
rendered correctly for Windows users with current versions of Netscape or
Internet Explorer. Mac Netscape users will probably see question marks in
place of some accented characters, and Mac IE users may see the accent
marks after, rather than over, their base characters.

2) http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~djb/aatseel/2000/program.pdf (165K)

This PDF version contains only the program schedule. Although paper titles
look like links, they aren't, and clicking on them has no effect. All
characters should be rendered correctly for all Windows and Mac users with
current versions of Adobe's free Acrobat Reader, which is available at:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html

3) http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~djb/aatseel/2000/program-full.pdf (1256K)

This PDF version contains the program schedule and the full text of all
abstracts, accessible through a hierarchical set of bookmarks. All
characters should be rendered correctly for both PC and Mac users in the
main text window (right side of the display), but some Eastern European
characters with diacritics are rendered incorrectly in the bookmark window
(left side of the display) for both PC and Mac users. (If anyone knows how
to overcome this, please write to me at djbpitt+ at pitt.edu .)

(Note that the full PDF file contains 235 pages of text and may take
several minutes to download.)

With best wishes,

David
