Query for Soviet Film Buffs

Dear colleagues.

I am trying to identify a Soviet film about foreign workers in the Soviet
Union in the late 1920s or early 1930s.

In the film, a foreign engineer and his wife find fulfilling jobs in a
Soviet salt mine. All is well until an-anti bolshevik saboteur gets the
husband and wife expelled from the Soviet Union and sets a fire in the
mine. The wronged hero proves his loyalty by helping extinguish the fire in
the mine, and as a reward, he and his wife are invited to a Russian wedding
where they are presented with Soviet passports.

Please respond off line if you recognize this film, or if you can recommend
a thorough almanac of Soviet film from this era.

Thank you,

David Lightfoot
