Position in Slavic Linguistics

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures of the UNIVERSITY
OF CHICAGO has be authorized to undertake a search for a tenure-track
assistant professor of Slavic linguistics with specialization in West
Slavic. In addition to excellence in graduate teaching and research,
applicants must have a broad cultural background and the competence,
interest, and commitment necessary to teach undergraduate general
education courses.

Applicants must have the Ph.D. degree August 31, 2002. They should
send their dossier, at least 3 letters of recommendation (which
should, if possible, speak not only to competence in Slavic
linguistics, but also to potential as a teacher of undergraduate
humanities general education courses), and a sample or samples of
writing to:
