Thanks to those of you who responded to my query. Grossman's "V gorode
Berdicheve" appears in Glas No. 6, *Jews and Strangers*, in a translation
by James Escombe entitled "The Commissar."

Now may I survey the list on opinions about film adaptations of *Crime and
Punishment* in any language? Which are the best and which the worst? Please
send me any responses directly. I will summarize for the list.
