The Fulbright Representative Office in the Russian Federation serves an increasing number of senior scholars and graduate students, both American and Russian, primarily in the arts, humanities and social sciences.  We are also developing a network of Russian alumni with the help of the newly-formed Russian Fulbright Association.  We are currently seeking an experienced expatriate for the position of Deputy Director, reporting to the Director.

 

The Deputy Director will:

n      serve as the primary point of contact for incoming U.S. graduate students, overseeing their placement, travel and housing arrangements;

n      help implement the recruiting strategy for the principal Fulbright competitions in Russia (for senior scholars and for graduate students);

n      assist with the logistical arrangements (expert evaluation, interviewing and testing) for the above-mentioned competitions;

n      play a leading role in planning alumni activities;

n      ensure that the local Fulbright web page is kept up-to-date.

 

Requirements:

n      U.S. citizenship;

n      fluency in spoken and written Russian;

n      at least two years’ professional experience administering exchange programs in Russia or in a nearby country;

n      an M.A. in a related discipline;

n      excellent writing and communication skills;

n      excellent organizational skills;

n      ability to work effectively with colleagues and visitors;

n      knowledge of HTML desirable.
