Actually, the Austrians cleverly convinced the Western Allies at the end of
WW2 that they were 'Hitler's first victims' rather than willing
participants.  I guess all those Anschluss pictures were staged... umm, no!

And I've met a number of 'unrenconstructed' Austrians and Germans (who feel
about the 3rd Reich about the same way many Russians feel about 'Great
Stalin' - the trains ran on time, everybody had a purpose, etc.).
