Sudebny nadziratel'

hello!

Could somebody on the list give me a definition of a "sudebny nadziratel'"
(I found it in a legal text, but the words come up also in "Brave soldier
Chveyg".

Is he just the criminal law equivalent for "sudebny ispolnitel'/pristav"
(marshal in Am. English) ?
