Death of a colleague

I am deeply sorry to have to convey the terrible news that Marina
Kanevskaya, Assistant Professor of Russian at the University of Montana,
was killed by a hit-and-run driver (now in custody) on Friday, December 13,
in Missoula.  Professor Kanevskaya, who received her doctorate from Indiana
University, was the author of "N.K. Mikhailovsky's Criticism of
Dostoevsky : the cruel critic," published in 2001 by Mellen Press. A
scholarship fund will be established in her memory.
