How you translate the word depends on the context, use, etc. Just translating
"uncanny" is one thing, finding an equivalent for the Freudian usage of the
German term is another. I believe the closest to the Freud's German
"unheimlich" is Russian "potustoronnii," (may also sometimes be
"zapredel'nyi"). The word conveys the essence, and may be awkward to use;
"chuzhdyi" is the next closest alternative.
