[Robert A. Rothstein]

Ushakov (1934) lists the noun _zagranitsa_, describing the plural as
"fam., iron." and the singular as "razg."  His gloss is "inostrannye
gosudarstva, chuzhie strany (preimushch. o Zap. Evrope)," and he gives
three examples:
        Sviazi s zagranitsei
        Ia ostalsia nedovolen zagranitsei.
        Vsiu zhizn' prokatalsia po zagranitsam.
