Beliefs about the dead and body parts

Is there a partial parallel with Scandinavian mythology?  One of the events
meant to herald Ragnarok is the sailing of the ship Naglfar, made entirely
of nailclippings ...

The Voluspa warns us not to throw away nail clippings, thereby postponing
Ragnarok.
