training, course materials preparation, and professional placement
services to the U.S. military, intelligence and diplomatic communities.



MLS has emerged as the premier provider of customized training solutions
in Slavic, Middle Eastern and Central Asian Languages such as Albanian,
Arabic, Macedonian, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Georgian, Turkmen, Farsi, Dari and
Pashto, among others. We are actively recruiting distinguished
linguists/instructors in each of these languages to participate in
near-term contracts.



At this time, our most urgent need is for a Georgian instructor to
implement a 50-week Basic Georgian Course beginning 05 January 2004
(through 17 December 2004). The course will take place at the client
facility in Texas. In addition to remuneration, travel, lodging, car
rental (for the first month) and Per Diem are provided.



Key Qualifications include:

-         Experience teaching adults

-         Recent exposure to contemporary conversational usage of the
language

-         Experience teaching listening and reading skills

-         Experience developing training for development of listening
and reading skills.

-         Experience teaching the language grammar

-         Access to existing materials

-         Advanced computer proficiency and facility with classroom
equipment



Specific responsibilities include:



(1)   Classroom instruction, 7 hours per day, 5 days per week for the
50-week period (8 AM - 4 PM with a 1-hour lunch break),

(2)   Provision of native language expertise for materials selection,

(3)   Development of course plans,

(4)   Ongoing preparation of exercise and course materials based on
authentic Georgian printed, audio, and audiovisual texts,

(5)   based on assessment of student needs, ongoing development of
supplemental course materials/exercises to address specific linguistic
topics, and

(6)   Development and implementation of periodic proficiency assessments
in reading, listening, and speaking at the end of the 3rd, 6th, 9th and
12th months of training, and providing the results of those assessments
to the client in written form.
